Oscar Look - Bold Lips

Hey ladies,

If you were on Twitter this past Sunday you know I was watching the Oscars and loving it! I was also on Instagram and saw Kim Kardashian attended Elton John's Oscar Viewing Party and her make-up was absolutely stunning! It reminded me of a look I did way back for an event. So I figured why not share what products I used to achieve a similar look.

Products Used:

Foundation: Benefit- Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow in Beige
Mascara: bare Minerals- Lash Domination
Eyeshadow: MAC- Pink Freeze Frost
Liquid Eyeliner: Sephora- Eye Glitter in Opal
Liquid Eyeliner: L'Oreal Paris- Lineur Intense
Eyeliner: Este Lauder
Bronzer: Too Faced- Snow Bunny
Lipstick: MAC- Wonder Woman Red

Tips:

- Keep the eye shadow light
- Line your lips with a red lip liner to keep it crisp (I didn't line my lips so you can see the imperfection.)
- Take your time applying red lipstick bc it does stain

How do you wear red lipstick?

Midtown Look Part I

Hello Glam Beauties,

Hope everyone is getting ready for the Super Bowl this Sunday. If you need some new gear for the occasion, check out my clothing line, Devoted Rebel. We released a Football inspired winter collection. :)

Okay back to this look! These pictures are actually from Valentine's Day last year and I posted them on my old blog when I used Tumblr and they have yet to make it to my new one. But this was such an amazing day I have to share. My boyfriend and I spent Valentine's Day weekend at the Yotel hotel in midtown, Manhattan. Yotel, has a super young and chill vibe. The place is full of LED lights, a night club, a restaurant, an outdoor patio and more.

I wore this outfit to go bar hopping down 9th ave. On this trip it was the first time I went to Blockheads (hooked) they have amazing quesadillas and drinks, my favorite is the pink bull dog. We also stopped by 1, 2, 3 burgers, shots and beers. It was a young college atmosphere which made the vibe very chill. What are you favorite city bars?

My lipstick is a combination of MAC Mattene and Nars Dragon Girl

 Essie Orange It's Obvious

Motorcycle leather jeggings- Guess
Shoes- Charles Albert

The Real You Is Sexy #aerieREAL

Hello Glam Beauties,

I recently came across an article discussing Aerie's recent ad campaign reflecting their models not being retouched. I truly love this campaign! Lately, I have been seeing more and more company's who cater to young women, like myself, embrace and share photos of models in their campaigns not retouched.

Seventeen magazine is great with responding to their readers and the issue of their models being airbrushed came up. Seventeen showed a raw image of the picture vs a retouched picture. The changes were very minimal and the only change I saw was the girl had a piece of hair covering her eye so they removed it. It is great to see that company's are changing their ways especially since young women and girls are so easily influenced by models and celebrities.

Jay Z & Kendrick Lamar crash J Coles birthday bash at MSG

Credit: Getty images

From the moment Cole walked down the stairs with a red solo cup I knew it was going to be a great night. He was in the mood to party, and who could blame him, it was his 29th birthday and he had a sold out show at the Madison Square Garden Theatre.

He showed his true persona and personality last night which made it an even better concert experience. This was my first time seeing him live and he truly is an entertainer, jumping and moving all over the stage. J Cole is a character.

He not only performed hits from his Born Sinner album but some great old tracks from his Friday Night Lights mix-tape. In the middle of all the hype Kendrick Lamar walked onto the stage and joined Cole in the ending of the song. Kendrick then performed, "m.A.A.d city" and "Backstreet Freestyle" in between the two songs he thanked J Cole for his support.

After rapping, standing, jamming and laughing for an hour as if the night couldn't get any better, Jay Z strolled onto the stage in a black beanie and black mink coat. The crowd went insane! He performed "Public Service Announcement" and "f**ckwithmeyouknowigotit." In between the songs he stopped and gave J Cole a special birthday gift, his own Roc-A-Fella chain. Jay Z looked like a proud papa and Cole was genuinely thankful. It was legendary.

With the two guest surprise appearances I thought J.R. Smith or Carmelo were going to come out, since the Knicks won. Hahah. Asking for too much, now.

It was a great moment in the hip-hop world of what is to come from these young rappers.

At Home Hair Routine

Hi Glam Beauties,

Since I was not able to post my top used hair products for 2013 I figured why not share it for 'must use 2014 products'. Start the new year off right! ;)

I love trying new hair products especially since I am letting my hair grow; it constantly needs to be nourished and maintained. Five out of the seven days of the week I curl my hair with a heated curling wand which is extremely damaging to my hair if I don't apply the right products.

ALTERNA Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Pure Treatment Oil $25 (Buy Here)

This frizz control oil is meant for thick/course hair but they also sell an oil spray for thin hair. The bottle recommends 1 drop but I use about 3-4 drops and it does not leave my hair oily. This product has really helped improve my dry hair.

Nexxus Pro-Mend Split End Binding Targeted Leave-In Treatment Creme $11 (Buy Here)

Since I curl my hair so often I get major split ends so I use a leave in conditioner made to mend split ends. I have been using Nexxus Pro-Mend Split End Binding for a couple of years now and it has done wonders to my hair. I apply a quarter size amount to my ends while my hair is still damp.

Caviar Seasilk Oil Gel $28 (Buy Here)

After I apply the split end treatment I apply an oil gel to hydrate and smooth my hair. More than often my hair gets very frizzy as soon as it begins to dry. I have tried so many products to keep it from frizzing after the shower but none did the job. I recently began experimenting with Alterna x Caviar Seasilk Oil Gel and ladies, this is the one. I apply 2-3 pumps in my hand and evenly spread it out through my hair avoiding the roots, unless you are going to style it right away. I usually just let my hair be and then curl with my wand a day later. It feels silky and most importantly it tames my frizzy hair.

Bamboo Smooth: Anti-Breakage Thermal Protectant Spray $22 (Buy Here)

Before I apply any type of heat to my hair I spray this amazing heat protecting spray from Bamboo Smooth: Anti- Breakage Thermal Protectant Spray. I use to use a heat protecting spray from Tresemme which left my hair wet, hard and the bottle nozzle was a disaster.

The Bamboo product is a creme texture but it sprays liquid. The nozzle sprays evenly onto my hair, it absorbs quickly without leaving it too moist and leaves my hair extremely smooth. I run my fingers through my hair, let it dry naturally and begin to curl. My hair feels amazingly smooth after I curl it giving my heated curls a natural look and feel.

Matrix Biolage Monoi Oil Softening Treatment $12 (Buy Here)

After I curl my hair I apply 2-3 drops of Monoi Oil Softening Treatment from Matrix Biolage (for thick/ course hair) it gives my hair instant shine while conditioning the cuticles to soften hair. I apply it all over my hair from root to ends. (not to heavy on the roots if you have oily hair) There are three types of oils in this collection for all hair types.

L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin strong hold Hairspray $15 (Buy Here)

To complete my look I finish it off by using the one and only L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin strong hold Hairspray. I gives the perfect amount of hardness and does not flake or leave white residue.

What are your favorite hair products?

Best Beauty at the Grammy's

Besides the impeccable gowns, the make-up and hair team worked it tonight. The majority of the stars wore their hair loose with casual beach looking waves with a natural face.

Here are my favorite beauty looks that I would love to re-create.

Queen B, Beyonce

Super short hair is making its way back, many stars are doing it such as Adrienne Bailon and Kylie Jenner. Beyonce's dark to light toned hair looks beautiful against her light caramel skin and really accentuates her features. Lately, she's been rocking beachy waves and it looks amazing. Burgundy lipstick has been trending all winter, so if you don't have that perfect burgundy purple lipstick, get one asap.

To achieve this look do beachy tousled waves.
For the face do a light smokey eye using black and gray on the lids only, brown shadow on the bottom eye rim instead of black.
On the cheeks use highlighter on the upper cheek bones and nose.
For the lips use a matte burgundy lipstick.

Kasey Musgrave

I love this fresh face look.

To achieve this look, part your hair to the side and do a messy bun by pulling out the tips.
For the face the Naked 3 might be the best choice, use rose gold pink and brown eye shadow on the eye lids.
For the cheeks a shimmery peach color.
On the lips use a guava color lipstick and top with lipgloss.

Kelly Osbourne

I am obsessed with Kelly's hair color/cut and her face! Stunning!

To achieve this look, lightly color in your eyebrows for a defined shape.
For the eye lids use a white or light pink for the base. To really get this look it is all about the eye wing, with a liquid eye liner stencil the wing to go up towards the eye brow and make sure the wing is thin. Apply the same eyeshadow to the lower lids and apply mascara on lower lashes.
Kelly's cheeks look slightly rosy so use a light pink matte blush.
For the lips apply a burgundy purple tone matte lipstick.

Rita Ora

These are my favorite types of curls so of course she has to be in this list.

To achieve this look, part your hair and curl it using wand by curling each piece in opposite directions. So the curls fall in different directions giving volume.
For the face color your eyebrows for a defined shape.
For the eyes use a light purple towards the center and a dark purple on the end to give depth. Use the same color on the bottom of the rim. It is a smokey eye except you are using purple shadows instead of black and grays.
For the lips, use a light baby pink matte lipstick.

Which look would you re-create? Who's look did you love?

xoxo
