Get The Golden Globe Looks with Matrix

After hours of getting ready for the Golden Globes, celebrities not only had extravagant designer gowns but spent time on having the perfect hair and make-up for the red carpet. Let's take a closer look on two of my favorite Golden Globe looks.

Leslie Mann the This is 40 and The Bling Ring actress kept it simple and classic for the elegant award ceremony. Her hairstylist Lona Vigi said Leslie came to her and said “I want something effortless.” The black lace dress with peplum detailing was elegant and eye-catching, so Lona felt a modern and simple blowout would compliment that femininity best. A deep side part gave the sleek look a red carpet touch.

The effortless look meshed very well with a detailed lace gown! Want to get the everyday simple blowout?

Follow the easy to do steps below by using four Matrix products that can be added to your everyday routine!

STEP-BY-STEP:
STEP 1: Apply Biolage Styling Agave Nectar Control Gel ($16) throughout damp hair to give it shape and body. Leslie has naturally curly hair so this product provides memory and hold for a sleek look
STEP 2: Blow dry hair with a medium-sized round brush in sections
STEP 3: Run a small amount of Matrix Total Results Heat Resist Iron Tamer ($16) throughout the hair to protect it from the flat iron and reduce frizz
STEP 4: Flat iron sections around the face and throughout the shaft to refine and smooth the look
STEP 5: Apply a small amount of Biolage ExquisiteOil Strengthening Treatment ($22) to fingertips and run over hair and throughout the ends for lightweight shine and luster
STEP 6: Finish the look with a light misting of Biolage Styling Complete Control Hairspray ($16) for all-night, touchable hold

Get The Color

The oh so beautiful Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Witches of East End actress looked stunning at the Golden Globes. Dewan-Tatum also went for a simple hair do and color to not take away from the dress and entire ensemble.

Celebrity Matrix hair colorist, George Papanikolas, said Jenna came in wanting to lighten up for her big premiere on the red carpet post-baby. Her color is a rich chocolate brown, but as luscious as it looks in person, monotone color often doesn’t register in photographs or on camera and just looks flat. Highlights are a great way to add dimension and movement. Get this beautiful hair glow by asking your hair colorist to follow these four simple steps.

GET THE LOOK:
STEP 1: The overall idea is a “sun-kissed effect.” Ask your colorist for strategically placed highlights
STEP 2: Very subtle highlights at the roots will give hair a bit of depth, nothing too drastic
STEP 3: Give ends a more noticeable but still soft, golden sun-kissed look with brighter highlights. “This is where the dimension really registers on camera,” George said, “especially at the ends of angles and layers.”
STEP 4: Finish the look with a clear gloss like MATRIX COLOR INSIDER (Matrix.com for salons) to give hair vibrant luster and shine

Will you try these looks?

xoxo
